Lindsey Graham – blown on the political wind

Lindsey Graham who died suddenly after a trip to Ukraine where he was hopeful that pressure on Russia would end the war was a latter day supporter of Trump as Republican senator for South Carolina. In 2015 mounting his own campaign for the US presidency, he denounced Trump as a “race-baiting, xenophobic religious bigot”; and criticised his role in the January 6 Capitol Hill attack. But he nonetheless became a firm ally and  helped persuade the White House to launch a full-scale war with Iran. His ultra-hawkish, interventionist stance on US foreign policy also led him previously to be a firm advocate for G.W.Bush’s Iraq invasion.

He was born on July 9 1955, no birth time, in South Carolina to a blue-collar family. When his parents died in his twenties he raised his much younger sister, while attending university and training for the US military.

He had a stellium in Cancer ranging from Venus to his Sun and a late degree Uranus Mars conjunction; with a Pisces Moon. His Sun was trine a conscientious Saturn in Scorpio. His volatile, excitable Mars Uranus was in a highly-strung, dogmatic square to Neptune. And his Mercury in Gemini trine Neptune was sextile Pluto making him a forceful communicator.

Puzzling over his flip flop approach to Trump – odd thoughts. One is that Cancer is tuned into the public pulse of the moment so although he wasn’t very Mutable he might well have opted to go the way the political wind was blowing. Mercury trine Neptune can be evasive if not downright duplicitous.

His Sagittarius North Node would also make him chameleon-like – his Gemini South Node giving him problems with loyalty and a tendency to be used by others if it suited his purpose.

His Mars Uranus would incline him towards dramatic even violent interventions.

Three of his Saturn midpoints have been triggered or are about to be this year which might suggest that karma was at work. He strayed too far from his Sagittarius North Node which needs to seek higher knowledge.

Houses will make a considerable difference.

His relationship chart with Trump was extremely odd for a pair who appeared to be allies. There was a differing-agendas composite Sun, Uranus, Mercury conjunction; a power-struggling composite Mars Pluto conjunction; and a Jupiter Saturn conjunction.   The Uranus hinted at incompatibility but the toxic Mars Pluto pointed to total submission being the only remedy. Jupiter Saturn? – luck first followed by a price to pay for bad choices. That is not so much an anti-Trump thought, more that he went against his own inclinations and sold his soul for ambition.

Graham’s Pluto was conjunct DT’s Mars and his Mars Uranus was conjunct DT’s Saturn Venus.

It was a mess of a relationship.

  1. Invaluable examination of that world – who pays who in US Congressional politics. Who backs JD Vance in the Senate ? – that may become the key question. In my estimation at the end of this month Trump is about to face a MAGA backlash. We’re talking November primaries voters ! From Vance’s statements he is the obvious person to pick up support for late 2028. But has anyone seen a Democrat riser ? I follow most channels but It’s as if Fox News has edged out any network coverage of a Democrat explosion. Much of Europe’s media is too slavishly attendant on anything Trump states – but have all the Democrats completely lost their tongue ?

  2. Jas, that doesn’t mean he was not hiding the surplus money he was making….all politicians are a very healthy wage around the world, doesn’t stop them making deals.

  3. I watched a remote viewer channeling him last night, and he said he couldn’t stand Trump, but to keep on making a lot of money, he realised he had to dance to his tune…so just agreed with him on everything, even though most of these things were contrary to his personal opinions….He also confirmed that about only 10% of the global political population truly cares about their constituents. The rest are only in it to make money. Sight.

    • How strange, since he had a low net worth compared to most other Senators. (Senators make 174k a year, more than most Americans) Someone on Twitter (X) was making fun of him for lacking money and not deserving to be in the Senate because he didn’t know how to make money. All politicians make a pact with the devil, so to speak, at least those of today.

What is consistent with him is that there was never a war he didn’t like. He certainly believed that America needed to flex its powers and show its “greatness” to the world.

      • @JAS, yes Senators earn just shy of $200L per year, but the cost of living in D.C. is one of the highest in the country and they have to maintain a residence in either their state or district so that $174K can evaporate very quickly.

  4. I wonder whether the Neptune effect mentioned by Marjorie has reared iits head as Neptune has gone retro and will go back into Pisces for a brief revisit.
Also Jupiter was about to transit Graham’s own jupiter.
Graham is a slightly odd character but reminds me of lawyers who will represent anyone who is ‘paying the bill’ – the Republican party.

  5. Is there an astrological marker for hypocrisy or for hiding identity?

Graham consistently voted against gay rights, yet was well known in Washington to be a closeted gay man. It was an open secret for decades. He was often referred to as “Lady Lindsey” and was said to patronise escort services.

He gained political prominence in Washington in the ’90s as one of the impeachment managers against Bill Clinton, investigating the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal, while keeping Republican sex scandals hidden.

There are also now rumors of a pending financial scandal involving him about to break which may have contributed to his increased stress.

    • Heavens. I had not realised it was as bad as that. Someone must be able to dig out his birth time which would help.

      • Plenty of Americans here, MO.
Any clear cut path(s) of access?

( just had a laugh, I think I heard LG whisper “ Let me make a call”)

      • I was just about to ask the same thing- grahams abrupt about turn towards trump was largely seen as a deal made w the devil – join the team and stay closeted or were going to ‘out’ you.

    • How very southern ( says this uninnocent NYer) re Pending Fiscal Scandal – Alec Murdaugh comes to mind)- but regarding lbirthtime there was a good suggestion you had, but I can’t recall it, please update if can!

As to the hypocrisy, I’d say that’s a pitiful synonym for politician with Lady L at the top of the heap. But no doubt his birthtime/houses would show where the skeletons were born and buried.

      • The unsavory stories, previously just rumors, are starting to come out. RawStory is reporting that one trans woman, an actor and writer, alleged that Graham hired her, as a pre-transition college student, to do “unspeakable things to him while he wore red lingerie” at a hotel. I’d been hearing such tales for at least 20 years. Sad.

        • Sounds like it’ll be hot summer reading. I may have gotten my entertainment fill when T said he *thought he’d live forever*. Ah, the projections of a narcissist.

But @Nicole Sours Larson weren’t you the one who had food intell on finding birth certificates? …..inquiring minds

          • Alas, it was not me! I don’t know any other way of finding birth certificates, other than through state bureaux of birth and statistics. I’ll ask an investigative journalist friend for other ways.

        • There is no such thing as a trans “woman”.
George Galloway has a great piece on Lindsay Graham and Mitch McConnell.Horrible men.

    • If we assume hypocrisy / hidden identity is a lack of self-acceptance then I’d say say you might find it astrologically in an opposition in the natal chart. The native identifying strongly with one end of it and projecting the other end onto others. But Graham doesn’t have an opposition. So then perhaps I’d look at what is in the 7th-8th house.

I note he has Saturn in Scorpio trine his Cancer Sun so that would probably explain his expressed conservative attitudes. If you gave him a birthtime in the evening, the Saturn would probably come to the top of the chart; it could give a Capricorn ascendant and Pisces would land on the 2nd explaining his flip flopping of values. The moon itself would be later and move into a grand trine and the Saturn in Scorpio could despise himself for the confusion of a Pisces moon.

Further thought – given the suggestions of him having things done to him while wearing lingerie; perhaps it’s no surprise that he would eventually submit to a dominating character like Trump

    • Nicole, we can always depend on you to bring the tea piping hot.
I already knew that Graham was a closet case and so is Tim Scott.
I still can’t believe that he believed that he thought he had a chance of being Trump’s VP that he entered his current sham marriage.
But SC seems to enjoy electing hypocrites starting with Strom Thurmond whose public face was that of a racial segregationist while he fathered a child with his parents barely teenage black maid, and he had a relationship although distance while he was alive.
But Mike Pence is the Republican whose personal life I am most interested in because not only is he a holy roller, but he is another Gemini sun and all Geminis have at least two distinct personalities, and when he calls his wife mother I can only think of Norman Bates in Psycho.

      • @Roderick, LOL! I wasn’t aware of Tim Scott — TBH, I haven’t followed his career, but it doesn’t surprise me — and I’ve wondered about the recently married Cory Booker, but he, fortunately, is no homophobe. I don’t care about anyone’s sexual orientation (and mostly give them a pass on individuals’ political policy, even if I find it abhorrent, as a matter of free choice, except for fascists of all stripes) as long as they don’t harm others, as Graham did with his hypocrisy and homophobic votes.

The stories coming out now on Keith Edwards’ podcast — he’s interviewed several sex workers whom “Lady G” patronized who contacted Edwards at his invitation — include death threats against them and their families if they spoke out about their paid relationships with Graham. What a nasty man!

I grew up in the DC area and lived in or, mostly, on the fringes of the political world until moving to California 26 years ago. One thing that still holds true is that there are no true secrets in politics and government and anyone who thinks they can keep a scandal truly hidden is delusional. I suspect this is true in most political circles around the world.

I’m not really hooked into political gossip anymore, living in what’s called the “cul-de-sac of the country,” so that if I’m hearing these stories they must be widespread. I can’t wait for the flood of stories about Trump and his cronies’ scandals and crimes. They are definitely starting to emerge.

        • I think that Booker is gay and every time he engages in a romantic relationship of some sort he is usually seeking higher office so now that he is married I assume that he is going to make another run for president in 2028.u
Even though Booker is a fellow Taurus I have to be honest that he lacks the gravitas to be president.
I was born (Mississippi) and have lived most of my life in the South so I’ve always seen the hypocrisy of conservatives/Republicans beginning with race and their so-called family values so nothing surprises me.
I grew up in the church and some of the worst people on earth sit insides those four walls on Sunday so they are who we thought they were.

    • The twinning effect w Mitch McConnell.
I thought he late 70s, btw.

His early success makes me think he had dirt on ppl. Idk that, but his whole mojo was Operator on Steroids.

His death is having a curious effect on me. Couldn’t bear the thought of him in recent times, but now that we are safely parted I am awash with curiosity. May the repressed parties unleash their freedom of speech .

  6. I wonder if Lindsey Graham death is synchronised to what’s still to come in August, the August eclipse is not looking good. Mitch McConnell is also sick, he may also pass on and create another vacancy in the Senate which will obviously trigger an election for two seats. Currently, as per most analysts there are chances that the Republicans might lose both chambers in the upcoming midterms. Jupiter is in Leo, the North Node will soon enter Aquarius, Uranus in Gemini, and the the August 12 eclipse, they are indicating a change of some kind in the US, especially in politics.

    • This was the last year in McConnell current six-year term and Kentucky has already had its primaries and McConnell Republican successor has already been chosen, but if McConnell doesn’t make it to the end of his term the Republican supermajority in the Kentucky legislator will pick someone to fill McConnell’s vacancy.
Unfortunately, I doubt that Democrats will be able to flip enough seats to gain a majority in the Senate especially with Fetterman playing will he or won’t he become a Republican.

      • I hear you Roderick, but with due respect, remember this is astrology, what I wrote above is not my opinion or a political article. I have been reading the stars for more than 30 years now, and in my experience, astrology have never lied at any point, I have witnessed thousands of eclipses and their consequences. Eclipses are always followed by extreme events like tsunamis, earthquakes, political deaths and many more, something is definitely coming in US politics. A few months ago I wrote about the Epstein files that Trump is trying so hard to keep under the carpet by initiating the Iran war, unfortunately he is not going to succeed, I see a lot of noise about them too after this eclipse, they are coming back with full force this time around. This coincides with the North Node moving into Aquarius, the stock market will fall, especially in the US. Currently everything points to a lot pressure and a forceful change in the US, I wonder how is Trump going to survive all of this. Also, this coming weekend there is that rare configuration of Neptune, Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto alignment at 4 degrees, which starts the golden era of humanity. Everything points to change in the US and around the world in general, that’s pure astrology. Lastly don’t be surprised if England wins the FIFA world cup. It can happen easily now.

        • The something you feel coming, Tshele, is the Third Uranus Return of the 4 July 1776 US founding exact next year in 2027. The August eclipse may simply be a prelude in the bigger picture.

All bets are always off with Uranus, but for sure, the US will be in completely different territory once the dust from this once-in-a-possible human lifetime transit clears, with no turning back.

I’m much less interested in how the insufferable malignant narcissist Trump manages to survive, and far more interested in what comes next after him, because there will indeed be life after him and not quite soon enough. Uranus always comes along to break up, down, or through something that blocks growth, and in this case, it may well be him that gets broken completely if he stands in the way of what must be.

        • Tshele, I am not questioning your capabilities as an astrologer, but I guess I am looking at things from the perspective of living in Alabama and noticing that support for Trump has not waivered here.
Granted the South is extremely red for various reasons mainly due to the low voter turn-out among African Americans.
With that said I was hoping that 2026 would be a repeat of the 2006 wave but unless independents in swing states go hard blue the gains that Democrats make this year will be small compared to 20 years ago.
I do agree with you that the content of the Epstein files will come out this year probably before the election but it won’t make a difference to MAGA especially white women who support Trump which is a disturbing phenomenon in and of itself.
Your prediction of the stock market falling would probably coincide with tr Saturn in Aries squaring U.S. Pluto some time next year, and good luck with England winning the World Cup (I’m not a fan of non-American football).

  7. Graham died from a brief and sudden illness, with preliminary findings indicating an aortic dissection linked to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

    • The “brief illness” wording is odd. Merc retro to credit perhaps? Arteriosclerosis is known as a long standing condition.
      .

      • Yeah I don’t understand why they keep using the term ‘brief illness’ either.
It would be better described as a medical emergency like a heart attack.

        • This “brief illness” thing seems to be the new way of saying “heart attack”. An ex of mine died in April, he was well known in certain circles, and his family insists on using the “brief illness” phrase in lieu of publicizing the true cause of his death. It’s strange to me.
