Thomas Tuchel, the England manager is living up to his abrasive reputation ticking off players after their win against Norway which took them into the semi-final with Argentina. Yet Tuchel was far from impressed. He said “We got lucky. We made life difficult for us in the way we played and how we played – sloppy, a lot of technical mistakes, not fast enough, not repetitive enough.”
Tuchel born 29 August 1973 Krumbach, Germany, does have the most extraordinarily complex chart. A nit-picking, critical Virgo Sun and Mercury are in a trine to heavyweight Mars in Taurus and sextile a not-always-sympathetic Saturn in Cancer. His Pluto is in a confident trine to Jupiter and a tough-minded square to Saturn. His Mars is in a risk-taking square to Jupiter.
In addition he has four yods:
Jupiter sextile Neptune inconjunct Saturn. Pluto sextile Neptune inconjunct Mars. Sun sextile Saturn inconjunct Jupiter. Saturn sextile Mars inconjunct Neptune. Four apex planets – Saturn for discipline. Mars for assertion. Jupiter for confidence and luck. Neptune for dreams (surprisingly common in sport).
He does have tr Pluto conjunct his Jupiter this year, exact again from early August till after mid December so he should finish the year on good form.

Looking at the 1975 national chart of Spain after (ahem) the event…. what stands out is Spain’s 3.44 Aquarius Ascendant conjunct tr. Pluto in opposition tr. Jupiter at 3 Leo. Spain’s Saturn (chart co ruler) is at 3 Leo so it is in a conjunction with tr. Jupiter in Leo too. Amazingly Uranus (chart co ruler) is at 4.27 of Scorpio in the 9th house. Jupiter and Pluto are hitting the angles of the Spanish chart squaring Uranus in the 9th. Hindsight is always useful.
Messi has the current Pluto Jupiter opposition sitting on his Aqua Ascendant / Leo Descendant. Argentina’s astrology chart shows the Asc, MC and the Sun activated by tr Uranus. A learning curve…angles matter.
Just a cultural aside, it seems to me there have been fewer England flags on display in my middle class, Southern area during this World Cup than previous tournaments. I remember in 2018 lots of cars being adorned with a little flag that could be attached to the door/window.
I originally thought this lack might be due to ennui about the World Cup being in the States but now I wonder if it is because of the flag’s appropriation by the far right political groups and racist propaganda.
I notice there is an England flag a couple of doors down but it’s not the red cross of St George on white background; it’s a more artistic one with reds, whites and blues and the Three Lions badge and England written on it.
I’ve noticed that as well. I wonder if it will change if England reach the final. Maybe people not believing they will go further
Hi Marjorie
Could you look at people when they have same rising sign & moon sign? How does each have an affect the astrology signs? Thank you.
Transiting Jupiter in Leo is forming an opposition to his natal Jupiter in Aquarius which is conjunct Pluto in Aquarius. Uranus in Gemini squares his Sun and Mercury in Virgo, opposes his Neptune in Sagittarius.
Because Tuchel’s chart is so activated by transits it makes me think England can win. However, no idea what his solar direction and solar arc charts are showing. Harry Kane’s Leo Sun also picks up transiting Jupiter for the finals. I think the Moon is in early Libra on WC final day which just pass Tuchel’s Saturn in Cancer square Pluto in Libra – again not sure how significant that is. But transiting Uranus, Jupiter and Pluto are spotlighting his early degree planets which makes me think this is a very significant time for Tuchel (and England).
* I meant progressed not solar direction which is the same as solar arc.
A quick glance shows that Didier Deschamps has transiting Jupiter conjunct his natal Moon in Leo for the finals. Jupiter in Leo squares France’s Jupiter Neptune conjunction in early Scorpio (1953 chart). So possibly a France v England final? The Moon in Libra on July 19th is at 7 Libra when the match starts which conjuncts the UK 1801 Ascendant. It will be interesting to see how the astrology works. (I follow an astrologer on Facebook who is keen on making sporting predictions, usually accurate, so it has temporarily grabbed my interest.)
Tuchel’s Saturn conjuncts his star player Jude Bellingham’s Sun, Moon, Mercury and Saturn.
I think they could go all the way too.
Lovely work. FOUR Yods!!!
I’m remembering you said that the UK’s Jupiter is being activated right now, which could indicate sporting success – or something else maybe.
I wonder if the coach’s astrocartography highlights anything in relation to the UK, or if there are any interesting astro crossovers with the country’s chart. Might have a look later on.
If you do, pls let us know!
Mmm. An August Virgo is a particular breed. I knew a mother daughter duo straddling Leo into Virgo, and the blur of Main Character Energy & PerSnickEty Persnicketyness was memorable.
I was quite fond of the mother, a self made woman who bestowed gifts without any strings. And I came to appreciate the daughter, though critical she was sans malice – and as is often the case, more difficult for herself than any of her moving targets. She also had quiet courage and clarity of action which reflects the Leo Virgo mix.
Astrologers – what does he chart look like for this week? Wednesday 15th and Sunday 19th? – Victory? Is it coming home?
